Responsibility

We all must take responsibility for our lives and there is no better way to begin than to take responsibility for our fitness and health. It's much easier to do this with the support of others who can offer the accountability and support that is just not there when you are on your own. While this group support is helpful a sense of personal responsibility is still required. This sense of responsibility for ones own body should go beyond just doing it for oneself...yes at first this may be the case but ultimately if it's only about you and how you look and feel health and fitness means little. Think about how your level of fitness impacts all those around you, whether it be family, friends, coworkers, or people you don't know who come into contact with you on a daily basis. If you're fit you have a better attitude, you can perform your work better, you have more energy and most importantly you are better prepared to achieve your potential and fulfill your life's mission and goals. But to do this you must first take responsibility for your actions. In other words you must own your ability to respond....it's not up to anyone else. Acting on this will not happen overnight, nor will it be easy, convenient or without setbacks. This brings us back to the necessity of others support as it will help you get past these setbacks and move closer to the life you envision for yourself.

It starts with you but others are the bridge that takes you to places you otherwise could not go.
